The problem
A customer in Hythe isn't very strong or mobile, and the door on their fridge-freezer opened the wrong way for them. Every trip to the fridge meant working around the door and the wall behind it, which is a small daily annoyance that adds up when moving around is already hard work.
What we did
Most fridge-freezers are built so the door can be swapped to hinge on the other side. It's a job that rewards patience: the door and hinges come off, the fixing points get moved across to the opposite side, and everything gets refitted so the seals still close properly and the door hangs true. We took our time over the seals and the alignment, because a door that doesn't shut squarely costs money in wasted power and can let food spoil.
The outcome
The door now opens back against the wall, so reaching inside is much easier, without any awkward shuffling around. It's a small job, but for someone who finds day-to-day tasks harder, it makes the kitchen noticeably easier to use.
